Tamashii's Vikintor Shares Enemy From Evangelho da Carne
The Brazilian developer has swapped the next game’s 2D player sprites for pre-rendered ones modeled on the 1998 PlayStation title Skullmonkeys.
Vikintor, the Brazilian developer behind Tamashii and Teocida, has shared a 25-second reel of a new enemy from Evangelho da Carne, a horror game in progress. In the clip, posted Oct. 1, a small skeletal figure runs along a ledge of coiled red flesh while a huge figure of flesh and bone lowers itself from the ceiling of the chamber. Watch it below.

In an earlier work-in-progress post, Vikintor wrote that the game's player sprites had been swapped from 2D drawings to pre-rendered ones: "Not as charming as Skullmonkeys, but that game was my inspiration." In a July 1 Steam update, Vikintor described Evangelho da Carne as "another punk-esoteric horror game in Tamashii/Teocida universe." The title translates from Portuguese as "Gospel of the Flesh."
The game has no store page, platform or release window yet. Vikintor is also making Val'ty, a short first-person shooter co-developed with Luna Ay, whose demo came out on Steam June 26.
Tamashii, a horror puzzle-platformer, came out on Windows in 2019, and Digerati ported it to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch that December. Estigma followed in 2020 and Teocida in 2021. Skullmonkeys, released for the PlayStation in 1998 by The Neverhood, Inc., built its graphics from clay models. In a 2022 interview with Dread Central, Vikintor said, "I was first influenced by Screaming Mad George's surreal horror art."
