On Nov. 25, Plum Road Tea Dream will be performed at 30CC in Leuven, Belgium: two performers enter the game world live, one guiding the way while the other plays for the very first time, the run streamed and projected at theatre scale, per the announcement. The night belongs to WOEKER, a multidisciplinary festival centering trans and gender-diverse artists.

The game underneath is Samuel Baidoo's autobiographical work, made with Reveal Game Studio and on Steam since July. It moves through seven sanctuaries for queer grief built by an avatar called S., its main verbs are walking, sitting and listening, and it was a Nuovo Award finalist at this year's Independent Games Festival. Its sanctuary gained a mausoleum in August.

Baidoo, a Brussels-based creator, performer and game designer, keeps refusing to let the game be a solitary object. They staged it at DE SINGEL in Antwerp in April, ran a group-play Hangout with tea and ritual at W139 in Amsterdam in October, and now hand the controller to a performer who has never touched the game.

Games keep leaving the console for the stage, and Killscreen follows them there. The free Radar newsletter brings three stories like this every week.
