Geostorm's First Trailer Pits Bass Against an AGI [Watch]
Eternal Engine and AGE3000 Studio's narrative adventure sends a hacker-mage and a jester toward a machine castle after every device on Earth fails.
The Polish team behind Geostorm has released the first trailer for the narrative adventure, its first look at the game in motion. In the premise, a geomagnetic storm has disrupted every electronic device on Earth and shaken a technofeudal order. Two friends, a hacker-mage called the Clockmaster and an outsider Jester, set out for the Immortal Castle, the artificial general intelligence that runs the machines.
The first trailer for Geostorm, with prototype footage (Eternal Engine / AGE3000 Studio). Trailer song by Jagoda Wójtowicz.
Their weapon is bass. According to the studio, the pair stream to earn a currency called Fake Gold, and one of the side quests is throwing an illegal rave on crop circles. The trailer cuts between fireworks of sparks, foggy concrete rooftops, a tunnel and a towering machine in a field. All of the footage comes from the prototype, and the team says it is now building a playable demo. No release date or platforms have been announced.
Geostorm is developed by the experimental studio Eternal Engine and produced by AGE3000 Studio, and it is directed by three of their members: Jagoda Wójtowicz, who also leads environment art and co-wrote the music; Martix Navrot, who handles game and narrative design; and Eliza Chojnacka, the concept artist and project manager. Radosław Suduł is lead programmer. Eternal Engine describes its practice as research into 3D, VR and XR, and the trailer song is Wójtowicz's own. The project is co-financed by Poland's Ministry of Culture and National Heritage through the Institute of Creative Industries.
The game is the first title from AGE3000 Studio, which spent the past seven months on its demo and has been posting a devlog along the way.
