The first names announced include Lawrence Lek and Nicolas Gourault. Lek, the London artist who builds and films his worlds inside video game engines, will show a selection from his Smart City trilogy (2021 to 2024). Gourault, a Paris filmmaker who has worked with the research agency Forensic Architecture, will show two films, Their Eyes (2025) and VO (2020).
Also on the bill: the London music and performance project Rat Section, with Double Vision, a performance based on television news broadcasts; Europa; Keiska; Labodoble; Sophie Becker; Nikola Balberčáková; Jiří Havlíček and Martin Ožvold; Other Visions CZ, a program curated by Edith Jeřábková; and a symposium. More names are to come.
PAF describes a bestiary as a catalogue of beings that may or may not exist in the visible world. This year it says it is turning that logic on the moving image: how images are produced, classified, circulated and transformed.
Four-day passes cost 1,600 Czech koruna through Oct. 21 or until they sell out, then 1,800 through Nov. 17 and 2,000 at the door. Single-day passes run 700 to 900 koruna, and children under 12 get in free. PAF advises booking a room in Olomouc early.
