Game makers have until Oct. 26 to pitch Onassis ONX Seeds

The Athens program backs analog-digital prototypes: 5,000 euros of funding, four months of development, and an exhibition in March 2027.

If you make playable work that lives anywhere other than a storefront, here is a deadline worth clearing a weekend for: applications to ONX Seeds, the Onassis Foundation's prototype program, close Sunday, Oct. 26.

The call, themed "Soft Circuits for Hard Times," reads like it was written by someone who actually plays things. It asks for "images, objects, environments, and rituals that can be seen, touched, worn, inhabited, played, and shared," and it names game developers and playable worlds outright, next to manga, K-pop, cosplay and streetwear, treated not as aesthetic wallpaper but as "living spaces of translation, connection, and belonging." The announcement went out this week with four days to spare, so consider this your margin call.

The deal: up to four projects get seed funding of up to 5,000 euros each, a four-month development program with production, curatorial and technical support, and access to the new ONX Studio at Onassis Ready in Athens. Finished prototypes show at the ONX Exhibition in Athens in March 2027, with a connection to the ONX Studio in New York after that. The program runs in English, online and in Athens, and is open to emerging creators and teams internationally.

Onassis ONX has quietly become one of the better pipelines for game-adjacent art in the city; it is where Ugo Arsac showed KATÁBASIS, the Cannes-winning descent built from 3D scans of the sewers. Seeds is the ground floor of that network, and the ground floor is where you want to get in.
