The Swamp Daughter is Bicho Raro Games' adaptation of La hija del Delta, Alejandra Bruno's novel set in the Paraná Delta, the maze of river islands just north of Buenos Aires. Bruno also sits on the studio's team as game and narrative designer and producer, so the adaptation comes from inside the book. Bicho Raro describes itself as the first women-founded game studio in Argentina. The game is a 2.5D adventure. Julia, the protagonist, moves through a decaying, dreamlike wetland after an ecological collapse, gathering supplies, solving puzzles and making choices that branch toward several endings. The studio's own description treats the delta as a living character rather than a backdrop. The game has no release date yet; this weekend it is playable on the floor at EVA 2026, where it is nominated for Best Narrative.

EVA, the Exposición de Videojuegos Argentina, is the yearly show of ADVA, the association of Argentine game developers founded in 2004. This is its 24th edition. The announcement is short: free entry, three days at BA Ferial on the Costanera. The public floor, EVA Play, gathers more than 100 Argentine games made over the past year, and visitors can meet the teams, give feedback and vote for a favorite. Talks by Argentine and international speakers run across the week at BA Ferial and BAinGame.
The EVA Awards shortlist is a decent map of the floor. HEADCUTTER, SoulQuest and the student project Family Gambling are up for Best Game. Parasomnia: No REM is nominated for art direction and for horror, where it sits beside HAUS and His Last Film. Rollgeon led the live People's Choice count on Friday, ahead of GRIM REAPER and WarpMart.
Killscreen has followed Argentina's scene from the NAVE arcade cabinet to Tenebris Somnia, which came out Oct. 16.
