FUS RO MOD: Skyrim creation kit coming to Steam
As any diehard PC gamer will tell you, a game’s mods and modding community is often just as important to enjoyment of the game as the game itself. Bethesda’s latest shameless timesink, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, will soon make itself exponentially more accessible to would-be modders with the upcoming release of the Skyrim Creation Kit. Joystiq notes of Bethesda that:
…the company notes in its developer diary that it’s “going to keep looking for ways to get mods to more people, and hopefully one day to our console audience,” but comes up short of saying anything more concrete.
The Creation Kit will support Steam Workshop, not only allowing for much easier modding of the game but encouraging users to share their mods with other players. It’s good to know that Bethesda share the belief that these days, half the fun of a new game is fiddling with it to make it, at least in part, your own. It seems that the more the line between Artist and Spectator becomes digitized, the more it seems to blur.
The Skyrim Creation Kit does not yet have a solid release date, but will be coming soon.
