Six people led it. Isabelle Smith, Antonio Kos Pinheiro de Andrade and Biagi Calicchia came from hapshapen games. Ilena Pegan and Yixin (Chester) Huang came from martianwho studios. Emilio Coppola came from the Godot Foundation.

Participants built a small world from felt, fabric scraps, ribbon, magazines and hot glue. They scanned each object with a phone. The scans went into Godot.

The result is Handcrafting Your Game: A MAZE Workshop, a free walking simulator for Windows, macOS and Linux. It is set on a riverside with flying villagers, feuding fishermen and fish, and a fluffy Fáfnir.

The method comes from two games in development: Abigail, from hapshapen, and Tulou, from martianwho. A recap reel from hapshapen went up June 1. The studio has also run the exercise at Boshi's Place in Brooklyn, which produced Handcrafted City of Delights and Debauchery.
