Wonderville will build your game into an arcade cabinet
The Brooklyn venue’s Wondercab Residency is taking Winter 2026 applications
- When
- Applications close Oct. 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern
- Where
- Wonderville, Brooklyn
Applications are open through Oct. 31 at 11:59 p.m. for the Winter 2026 Wondercab Residency, the program that takes an independent game and builds it into a custom cabinet on the floor of Wonderville, the Brooklyn arcade bar that already runs more than 30 custom-built, free-to-play machines. Applications go through the venue's site; the announcement went up on the venue's Instagram last week.
The current resident shows what the deal looks like. Reaper Madness, by Irreparable Games, holds the Fall 2026 slot, and its cabinet debuted on Oct. 4 at the New York Games Week kickoff party.
Most small games live as links now, frictionless and bodiless, and a cabinet is a nice change: a street address and controls chosen for this one game and no other. Wonderville has been making that case for years. When we covered Alt Ctrl Fest in September, nine games had replaced the gamepad entirely, and the venue's cabinet Step Right Up! crossed a Zoltar machine with vector graphics.
The free KS Radar letter flags residencies and open calls for small games while there is still time to apply. Three short issues a week.
