Let's Play I Am Old and Tired is a theatre evening performed inside Red Dead Redemption 2. Across several gaming laptops, under Monika Klengel's live direction, six performers build an immersive film in front of the audience: a weary avatar who wants to retire to a quiet life at Aurora Basin, in the mountains of a game world. Avatars are the last bodies in culture that never age, never sicken and never lose motivation, and the piece runs on what happens when one finally wants to stop.

The run is two nights at HAU3 in Kreuzberg, Oct. 28 and 29, performed in German and English and recommended for ages 16 and up, per HAU's announcement. Total Refusal, and Theater im Bahnhof, the Graz theatre collective, premiered the piece at TiB's own house in September 2025; their own description reaches for Thoreau's Walden and "a dooming tech fascism." After the Oct. 29 show, there is an artist talk, in German, with both groups and Heimo Lattner, co-editor of Teslokratie, a volume on the ideologies of tech capitalism, moderated by Sarah Reimann.
Credits include Jacob Banigan, Susanna Flock, Johanna Hierzegger, Lorenz Kabas, Robin Klengel and Moke Rudolf-Klengel, with modding by RCPisAwesome. Killscreen last caught Total Refusal when their films played a Hamburg cinema.
Theatre staged inside video games crosses Killscreen's radar more than anyone else's, and the free newsletter is where those nights get listed before they happen.
