How to Play: OMMRPG
Two teams, eight mirrors and a laser beam that may never touch the goal directly. A Korean design team’s field game, first played in an Amsterdam gasworks.
OMMRPG (Offline Multiple Mirror Reflect Positioning Game) is a rough-and-tumble field game where two teams use mirrors to bounce a laser beam onto their opponent’s goal. The Big Game Team from South Korea’s Sungkyunkwan University spawned this simple, low-tech and fast-paced combination of football and a puzzle game, which first appeared at Come Out and Play 2007, held at Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam.
“We wanted to add some technology but we did not want it to become too technology-dependent. So, if you have a pair of laser pointers, you are all set to play OMMRPG!”—The Big Game Team
