OlliOlli plays with skateboarding and kickflips onto PC
“Skaters by their very nature are urban guerrillas: they make everyday use of the useless artifacts of the technological burden, and employ the handiwork of the government/corporate structure in a thousand ways that the original architects could never dream of.” – Craig Stecyk, 1976

For OlliOlli, failure is at the core of skateboarding. Kickflip off a rail, flub the landing, eat pavement, restart. Ollie too early into a wall, eat pavement, restart. Grind down a dinosaur, heelflip onto a giant mech, lose momentum, fall, eat pavement, restart. Sure, it’s frustrating. But also pretty enticing. Enticing in the same way that the whiplash die-rebirth-die-rebirth aspect of Hotline Miami kept you thinking “Okay now this time, I’ll get it for sure!” Up until today, though, you could only experience OlliOlli‘s teeth-gnashing, hard-as-nails gameplay on the PS Vita.

But today we can all partake in some sweet, radical wipeouts that haven’t been seen since the likes of Spike Lee’s debut short film, Video Days. OlliOlli is now available on Steam for PC, Mac, and Linux, with PS3 and PS4 ports scheduled for release later in the summer.
