The creative phases that Ivan Notaros goes through are connected by a curiosity he can only describe as “finding out how things work.” If he were born earlier in the 20th century, his workshop in Belgrade, Serbia would hoist steel machines on cantilevers, their practical details like entrails on the floor. Instead, he grew up with a computer and the many fiddly simulations of engineering marvels it hosts.
