[The Overkill](https://2026.theoverkill.nl/?ref=killscreen.com), the festival Sickhouse runs in Enschede, has a program you are meant to sleep through. On Friday, Nov. 27, the apartment above the art space becomes a dormitory for a small group: sound performances, meditative game sessions, bedtime stories and tea from 11:30 p.m. to about 3 a.m., then lights out and breakfast in the morning. Guests bring their own sleeping bags.

From the release trailer for **Plum Road Tea Dream*. The [full trailer with sound is on Steam](https://store.steampowered.com/app/3206340/Plum%5FRoad%5FTea%5FDream/?ref=killscreen.com).

The anchor of the night is [Samuel Baidoo](https://www.killscreen.com/tag/samuel-baidoo/)'s *Plum Road Tea Dream\_The Hangout*, a relaxed performance built around Baidoo's autobiographical game. *Plum Road Tea Dream* turns Baidoo's grief, joy and life as a queer person of color into a chain of sanctuaries that an avatar named S. moves through slowly. The Hangout adds conversation, collective play and a tea ceremony. Claire Williams performs *A basket of Rays*, a live sonic piece that makes the room's inaudible sounds audible, and Puck Verras guides everyone toward sleep.

The overnight is the literal version of this year's theme, "Dream No Return." The festival's premise is that the technology people use all day is making them productive, distracted and too tired to dream, and much of the program circles rest. Jade Lin's *Manifest Your Dream Job Sleep Meditation* is a channel-surfing game you nod off inside. In the cinema, Johannes Binotto's *Practices of viewing sleep* treats dozing as part of watching a film, and Paola Jalili's *Women at Rest* asks whether freelancers ever get a holiday.

The rest of the exhibition runs across Sickhouse and nearby spaces. Alejandro J. Cura's *Ventilastation* is an open source console built from a large fan and LEDs, with games from local jams; [Michael Frei](https://www.killscreen.com/tag/michael-frei/) and Raphaël Munoz bring *Time Flies*, where you live a fly's short life; Zuraida Buter hosts Playful Friday, a day of hands-on sessions with makers at Vestzak.

Killscreen has followed *Plum Road Tea Dream* since [its grief sanctuary gained a mausoleum](https://www.killscreen.com/plum-road-tea-dream-mausoleum-jira-duguid/) this summer, and Baidoo [ran the Hangout at W139](https://www.killscreen.com/samuel-baidoo-hosts-plum-road-tea-dream-hangout-at-w139/) in Amsterdam this month. Sickhouse has turned up here before, too, as the host of [a workshop that rescued abandoned Miis](https://www.killscreen.com/abandoned-miis-come-back-in-a-homebrew-wii-game/).
