It starts as a tiny thing that would die without you. In *In Full Bloom*, from Swiss studio obleak games, you feed a small helpless creature whatever is nearby, and it grows — through distinct stages, each with its own environment to wander and consume, until neighborhoods and then continents qualify as a meal. The studio announced it plainly in [a video ](https://www.instagram.com/p/Dcx90FIslCE/?ref=killscreen.com): "It's about a tiny creature that becomes very, very big... Because of you!" Ominous!

Twenty-one seconds of the **In Full Bloom* demo trailer, muted — [watch the full trailer with sound on Steam](https://store.steampowered.com/app/3810240/In%5FFull%5FBloom/?ref=killscreen.com).

The [Steam page](https://store.steampowered.com/app/3810240/In%5FFull%5FBloom/?ref=killscreen.com) — which now has a real date, November 4, with a free demo already up — calls it "a Tamagotchi-inspired Katamari-like," and promises "the conflict between responsibility and mindless consumption." The caretaking loop and the consumption loop turn out to be one loop. The store page also warns, flatly, that the game "contains depictions of eating and vomiting." Nothing is too big or too little to chew, the studio says; the sentence reads differently once you've been the one doing the feeding

Both of its ancestors got this treatment from us long ago. *Katamari Damacy* can be read [a horrific exercise in self-loathing](https://www.killscreen.com/katamari-horrific-exercise-self-loathing/) and we once found [a game that made you the Tamagotchi](https://www.killscreen.com/finally-game-where-youre-tamagotchi-and-kid-toys-you/) while a child toyed with you. *In Full Bloom* fuses the two: you are the caretaker, and that is precisely the problem. Feed me, Seymour!
