# Sundance Watch: ‘Repurposed’ games featured in New Frontiers

Continuing our [look](http://news.killscreendaily.com/post/16070384436/indie-game-the-movie-to-show-at-sundance-film?ref=killscreen.com) into the Sundance Film Festival, we are excited to see what comes from Sundance’s New Frontiers, a part of the festival dedicated to new ways to present narratives. Even the ubiquitous James Franco has had his [hand](http://www.sundance.org/press-center/release/sundance-institute-announces-artists-selected-for-2011-new-frontier/?ref=killscreen.com) in it.

One of such projects comes from Italian-based Molleindustria, makers of controversial games such as *Oligarchy* and *McDonald’s Videogame*, is a “team of artists, designers and programmers that aims at starting a serious discussion about social and political implications of videogames,” according to their [site](http://www.molleindustria.org/en/about?ref=killscreen.com). They have brought several of their games to the festival, one of which is “Unmanned,” a piece whereby the player mans a drone aircraft over a war zone while conversing with a spouse back home in the suburbs. They bring a handful of other politically charged games to the festival as well.
