The San Francisco Electronic Music Festival held its [25th Anniversary Gala](https://grayarea.org/event/sfemf-gala/?ref=killscreen.com) at Gray Area's Grand Theater on Aug. 22, 2026.

Carl Stone played. Stone has performed live computer music on a laptop since 1986\. Kush Arora, who records as Only Now, mixes deconstructed Punjabi music with industrial, dancehall and noise.

Luciano Chessa and Wobbly (Jon Leidecker) gave a live realization of *Desert Ambulance* by Ramón Sender Barayón. Sly Ida closed with a DJ set.

Tickets ran from $30 to $250, [according to the festival](https://www.sfemf.org/sfemf2026gala?ref=killscreen.com). The top tier included a pass to its September concerts at The Lab.

SFEMF is artist-run. Eight Bay Area musicians and sound artists founded it in 1999, and the first festival took place in 2000.

*Disclosure: Gray Area is Killscreen's fiscal sponsor.*
