*Plum Road Tea Dream\_The Hangout* is a group play session of Samuel Baidoo's autobiographical video game, run by the artist in person. A visitor gets 90 minutes of collective play, honest conversation, a tea ceremony, and a ritual, in what [W139's announcement](https://www.instagram.com/p/DebiOtvF6y1/?ref=killscreen.com) calls an intimate but casual setting. The game underneath, *Plum Road Tea Dream*, made with Reveal Game Studio and on Steam since July, moves through seven sanctuaries for queer grief built by an avatar called S., and its main verbs are walking, sitting, and listening. (You can read our review [here](https://www.killscreen.com/walk-sit-listen-what-to-play-october-9/).) A game built around communal mourning almost always gets played alone; this session puts the communal part back.

The evening belongs to *The Nature of Remembering*, a group exhibition at W139, the artist-run production space on Amsterdam's Warmoesstraat, initiated by artist Lawil Karama with historian Megan Hoetger. The show runs through Nov. 1 and asks who, or what, helps people remember violence that has been made invisible. The Hangout is a one-night event: Saturday, Oct. 17 at 8 p.m.

Baidoo, a Brussels-based creator, performer and game designer whose [grief sanctuary gained a mausoleum](https://www.killscreen.com/plum-road-tea-dream-mausoleum-jira-duguid/) this summer, is joined in dialogue by Karama, a Ugandan-Dutch conceptual artist whose work starts from family history. The exhibition around them includes Michèle Boulogne, Laura Fong Prosper and Tin Wilke, Aram Lee, Komtouch Napattaloong, Bart Seng Wen Long and Kaisa Saarinen.
