Rachel Rossin debuts a set of new EEG tools on Thursday, Oct. 15, at the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, in conversation with Sonia Shechet Epstein, the museum's curator of science and technology. The talk draws on Rossin's MoMI Lab residency and an ongoing project with Yale University's Wu Tsai Institute. In [the announcement](https://www.instagram.com/p/DefHf5Pmyk1/?ref=killscreen.com), Rossin says the talk takes up "the role of art as a neurobiological antidote to our vertiginous, technologically mediated present."

The conversation anchors Making Art in the Era of Neurotechnology, an evening on what happens to art and perception as access to brain data expands. The program adds a curator-led tour of the exhibition *Overexposed: Art, Technology, and the Body*, demos in the MoMI Lab, a screening of Nina Sobell's *Brainwave Drawings*, and *GammaTime*, a neurofeedback performance by Sobell and Ed Bear, followed by a reception.

Sobell has been drawing with brainwaves since the early 1970s. General admission is free from 2 to 6 p.m. that day, and the evening program begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Redstone Theater.

Rossin is a painter and programmer working across painting, virtual reality and installation, and the MoMI Lab's inaugural artist in residence, with the residency running through December 2026, supported by Agog: The Immersive Media Institute.

Killscreen tracks the talks, shows and museum residencies where game-engine artists cross into neuroscience and galleries, work almost nobody else covers. The free KS Radar letter flags them twice a week, while there is still time to go.
