If there’s one thing I’ve learned from game with stealth elements such as *Metal Gear Solid* and more recently *The Last of Us*, it’s that when things go bad I’d do best to hide behind some cargo crates and start neck-stabbing buffoons. This is the norm for these types of games. But *Path of Shadows*—a gorgeous game by talented students with a emphasis on sneaky ninjutsu—makes a brash change to the formula. Instead of sticking to the shadows, you are the shadows, becoming a lightless puddle of darkness by way of ninja magic. [The game’s prototype was recently made available for free](http://www.alphabetagamer.com/path-of-shadows-prototype-download/?ref=killscreen.com), with the proper version of the game coming soon, along with a Kickstarter. The trailer’s below.
