The *Mass Effect* series may finally reach its conclusion. Again.

In the few months since its release, the controversy surrounding *Mass Effect 3*‘s ending has been [discussed](http://killscreendaily.com/articles/essays/queer-chaos-mass-effect/?ref=killscreen.com) [extensively](http://killscreendaily.com/headlines/why-ending-mass-effect-3-started-furor/?ref=killscreen.com). Tomorrow, BioWare will release a [new ending](http://masseffect.bioware.com/about/extended%5Fcut/?ref=killscreen.com) to the game that will be “available to download at no additional charge” in response to criticism from players who were dissatisfied with the conclusion of the trilogy. Rather than offer a true alternate ending, the developers seem to be striking a compromise that will tie up loose ends without sacrificing the integrity of the original ending. It remains to be seen whether participants in the [Retake Mass Effect](http://retakemasseffect.tumblr.com/?ref=killscreen.com) movement will be appeased.
