Did you know that [*MIDI Maze*](http://killscreendaily.com/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIDI%5FMaze?ref=killscreen.com) was the first game to do 16-person multilpayer? Or that 1982’s *[3D Monster Maze](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3D%5FMonster%5FMaze?ref=killscreen.com)* pioneered the survival horror genre? Or that [William Higinbotham](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William%5FHiginbotham?ref=killscreen.com), the creator of [*Tennis for Two*](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tennis%5Ffor%5FTwo?ref=killscreen.com), the first videogame with a graphical display, *also* worked on the team at Los Alamos National Labratory that built the atomic bomb?

Well, YouTuber The GLASTREAM has put together an hour-long primer on historic games that we’ve all forgotten, although Wikipedia never will. We’ve been reading Tristan Donovan’s *Replay* for KS Book Club and I can’t stress the importance of understanding videogame’s not-so-distant past. [Cornel West](http://www.cornelwest.com/?ref=killscreen.com) once said, “Your past is the prologue to your future” and I’m inclined to believe him [as he said this on a rap album](http://www.theawl.com/2012/05/cornel-west-sketches-of-my-culture?ref=killscreen.com) so it has to be true.
