Remember *Choose Your Own Adventure* novels? They were great. But flipping to the exact right page was hard to do without spoiling some other part of the story. Thanks to hyperlinked texts, these stories no longer suffer from that problem.

If you’ve ever thought of writing a choose-your-own-adventure story, Anna Anthropy’s Twine [tutorial](http://www.auntiepixelante.com/twine/?ref=killscreen.com) is an excellent place to start. Twine is a simple game engine for writing hyperlinked adventures. Anthropy’s ending list includes *[Arcadia](http://www.jonas-kyratzes.net/arcadia/arcadia.html?ref=killscreen.com)* by Jonas Kyratzes and Madamluna’s *[The Temple](http://electricopolis.net/thetemple/?ref=killscreen.com).* A little like the old text-based adventure games, only with no parser to decode.
