*D4* is the follow-up to last generation’s best worst game, *Deadly Premonition.* At this week’s Game Developer Conference NEXT, [the man they call Swery explained his vision for the game, including how best to use Microsoft’s new Kinect camera.](http://gamasutra.com/view/news/204196/Swery%5Fdreams%5Fof%5FD4%5FMaking%5Fa%5Fnextgen%5FKinect%5Fgame.php?ref=killscreen.com)

Owlchemy Labs have explored a wide range of game flavors, from wood-choppin’ (*Jack Lumber)* to border-crossin’ (*Smuggle/Snuggle Truck)*. Their just-announced foray into survivin’ is [called *Dyscourse*](http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/owlchemylabs/2014095857?token=a409f139&ref=killscreen.com). And it stars an overeducated Barista.

Sports videogames have become annualized affairs built by mega-corporations.
