When submitting a resume it’s hard to make yours stand out from the hundreds or thousands of others who applied for the same job. Creative resumes can be a gamble, but when the right idea strikes, it can impress employers and land you a dream gig. [Brennan Gleason](https://dribbble.com/shots/1478113-Gleason-s-Resume-Ale-Self-Promotion-Piece?ref=killscreen.com), a recent design graduate from University of the Fraser Valley in British Columbia, sweetened the deal by printing his resume on bottles of his own home-made ale.

Gleason’s [Resum-Ale](https://www.behance.net/gallery/17914665/Gleasons-Rsum-Ale-Self-Promo-Rsum?ref=killscreen.com) may seem over the top, but it is perfect when looking for a job in the creative sector. The idea was inspiration by a class assignment from earlier in the year. He even brewed the blonde ale himself over a period of seven weeks, giving the employers a look at one of his other passions. Each bottle is labeled with a portion of his portfolio as well as a QR code that leads to the full resume.

He sent out a few of these four packs to several design firms in Vancouver In Gleason’s case, it landed him a job at digital brand marketing agency [Techtone](http://techtone.ca/?ref=killscreen.com). He told The Huffington Post, however, that it’s not a move that would have gotten him employed in any other type of business: “As designers, we’re always trying to show off our creativity. That’s the first impression these companies see.”

Gleason wasn’t the only one with bright ideas about resumes. Artist Youyou Yang made [fake trailers](http://www.psfk.com/2014/01/wes-anderson-trailer-job-application.html?ref=killscreen.com#!6hqjQ) when applying for a job with Wes Anderson and copywriter Jon Ryder sent his as a[prescription medication](http://www.psfk.com/2014/02/fake-medicine-box-resume.html?ref=killscreen.com#!6hpPF) for the ills of creative agencies. So next time you’re applying for a job, think about how you can spice up your resume.
